At one time, learning about the environment was limited to separate classroom units on ecosystems, conservation,
geology, habitat, water or the weather. Today, environmental education themes, concepts, lessons and projects are being integrated
into a broad spectrum of short and long-term learning activities designed for use inside and out of the classroom, as well as
on most school properties and within many communities.
The publications, activity guides, audiovisuals, projects and programs featured in this section are designed
to focus on how the environment and humans interrelate. They can be used in grades K-12 by teachers of science, social studies,
math, health, language arts and humanities. They can also be used by educators, couselors and youth leaders as part of camp
programs, religious functions, community projects, volunteer programs and workplace seminars.
