DARM Proposes Amendments to Rules (September 5, 2006)
Press Release
The Division of Archives and Records
Management proposes amendments to Subchapters 2, Records Retention, 3, Standards for Microfilming on Public Records,
4, Image Processing of Public Records, and 5, Certification of Image Processing Systems, to clarify or supplement
certain provisions within those rules in order to set standards for use of permanent paper for backup of imaged records,
single page TIFF files for imaging bitonal (black and white) records, and the PNG format for grayscale and color imaging
of certain records. The proposed Amendments appear in the September 5, 2006 edition of the New Jersey Register.

17, 2006)
With
the State Records Committee's (SRC) approval
of three (3) new Public Records Image Processing Systems, as per
PL1994, C140, the certification program
broke the century mark with a total now of 117 certified systems.
The three new certifications include:
- Check 21

w/Microfilm Backup;

of Burlington - Enterprise Imaging (06081702-NM)
- County
of Camden - Office of the Clerk - e-Recording Level II (06081703-MF)

the State Records Committee's (SRC) approval
of eleven (11) new Public Records Image Processing Systems, as per
PL1994, C140, the certification program
broke the century mark with a total now of 110 certified systems.
This represents a 45%+ growth in FY06. The eleven new certifications

Meeting
The
Division of Archives and Records Management will host CARMANJ's
2nd Quarter meeting at the State
Records Storage Center on Thursday June 22nd. Vincent
Scardino, Jr, Supervisor, Micrographics and Alternative Records
Storage and Daniel Nooonan, Supervisor, Electronic Records Management
will speak on certification of MIcrofilm and Image Processing Systems
respectively.
