The New Jersey
Department of Transportation
(NJDOT) has several documents
that assist in ensuring its programs
and actions are intended to provide
a fully accessible transportation
system and that our local partners
have accessible programs and
services.
NJDOT has made available its ADA
brochure Access
for Individuals with Disablilities,
in both English (pdf
2.9m) and
Spanish (pdf
2.9m) .
Also, in place are Notice
Under the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) (pdf
58k), Notice
of Nondiscrimination (pdf
130k) and Assurances (pdf
116k). These
documents are available to the
public and assure that NJDOT
is in compliance with Title II
ADA and does not discriminate
on the basis of disability in
its programs, services and activities
in compliance with Section 504.
The Notice of Nondiscrimination
and Assurances are signed by
the Commissioner of Transportation.
NJDOT has established an ADA
Workgroup (pdf
101k) composed of employees
who are subject matter experts
(SMEs) within their respected
fields appointed by senior
leadership. This group assists
the ADA Coordinator in matters
and issues involving ADA compliance
and accessibility related to State
owned facilities and roadways.
